Hop in and stay a while — she’s already saving you a spot in the sunbeam!
Meet Luna, our Funny Bunny! Adopted on Valentine’s Day 2021, this sweet Californian Albino loves baskets, fennel, Baroque music, and hiding under the bed. She pawsitively loves baskets, pets that never end, and catching up on her favorite shows.
Luna was originally bought as an “Easter Bunny” for two young girls in the neighborhood—a novelty gift with little understanding of the responsibility involved. She spent her first year confined to a cage, developing sore hocks from the hard flooring. Less than a year later, her family gave up on her and knocked on our door. We took her in without hesitation, and since then, Luna has lived as a loved, cage-free, free-roaming house rabbit.
Since adopting Luna, her personality has truly blossomed. She’s an independent bunny who enjoys affection on her own terms—curious, clever, and full of charm. Her favorite pastimes include long afternoon naps under the bed and winding down with evening TV alongside her grandma. Luna is endlessly loved and thoroughly spoiled by her family.
Luna’s story is a reminder of why buying rabbits as Easter gifts is often a harmful decision.
She was given to two young children as a holiday novelty—cute in the moment, but quickly forgotten once the excitement wore off. Confined to a cage for the first year of her life, she developed painful sore hocks from neglect and lack of proper care. When her original family lost interest, they gave her away without a second thought. Rabbits like Luna are intelligent, sensitive animals who need space, enrichment, and long-term commitment. They are not seasonal toys—they’re companions who can live over a decade, and they deserve better than to be treated as disposable gifts.
